Dr Victor Birioukov

Medical practitioner with specialist training in anaesthesia and intensive care.

Dr Victor Birioukov is a specialist anaesthetist with particular interest in general and obstetric anaesthesia. As well as clinical practice, Dr Birioukov is invested in health care administration and quality assurance of anaesthetic services delivery. As the current clinical director of the Department of Anaesthesia, Bundaberg Hospital, he is in an excellent position to oversee such matters.

Dr Birioukov is a member of FANZCA, the professional membership organisation for specialist anaesthetists and pain medicine physicians in Australia and New Zealand. He met the rigorous training and assessment requirements to become a fellow in 2016.

He trained for his career in New Zealand, starting in 2006, and came to Australia in 2018 with extensive experience in anaesthesia and intensive care. His career choice stemmed from a strong interest in science, practical procedures, and helping patients who were critically unwell. He enjoys the interaction he has with patients, which makes an important difference in their surgical procedure journey.

Dr Brioukov describes himself as a family man. He is a father of three and has happily made Bundaberg home since 2018.
